Meet Rose

My name is Rose Maude-Harriet and I am the co-founder of the Counseling and Play Therapy Center in Buffalo, Wyoming. Before counseling, I was teaching students from seventh grade to college. In 1999, I chose to reshape my career to help people individually and personally. My counseling interests led me to become an Experiential Play Therapist and I am passionate about helping young children. I first worked as a school counselor, grades K-4. Feeling the need to do deeper therapy with children, I opened my private practice in 2005. Training with experts in the field, I earned my Registered Play Therapist certification through the Association for Play Therapy. The natural teacher in me led me to obtain supervisory capacities so I now teach and train other therapists how to speak the language of children. I followed the same path in Jungian Sandplay and now teach and provide consultation to Sandplay practitioners in the US and internationally. Most recently, I have been training in Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR).

My counseling style is built on trust, empathy, compassion and positive regard for my clients. I believe we can achieve anything when we work together with common goals in mind. With warmth, genuine caring and humor, I am able to help people learn to make decisions in their own best interests. Good counselors don’t tell you what to do; they help you unwrap options that feel right based on your personality, belief system, situation and personal goals.

No issue is “too big” or “too small.” In my twenty years as a therapist, I have focused on complex trauma — past or present. I believe each person is strong and capable. Some of us just need to find that strength within ourselves.

Please contact me if you would like to give counseling a try. Let’s see if we are a good fit for each other. I’m here to help when you are ready . . . and even if you are not.
